Cuprisina stephanii (Stephanie)

Inspired by the Asteroidea (starfish) family.

This five-armed piece is made from sprayed copper segments, a bearing from a ’63 Corvette, and half a roll-on deodarant ball. Lighting consists of a 3W LED for the ‘eye’, under-powered 2W chisel LEDs at the tips, and clear-lensed, red rectangulars along the arms themselves.

Two switches under the eye control the modes, including a dim, steady date, gentle pulsing, and subtle flickering.
