Olekskavayna

Cuprisina olekskavayna (Olekskavayna) is a sculpture modelled on the well-known but amazing octopus. It is approx 1m long and formed from a variety of recycled and other materials, including heat-shocked copper panels.

The head shell is a Nespresso capsule holder from a thrift shop, and the eyes made from two used capsules. There are clean acupuncture needles, the ring from a bikini top, old transistors and oscillators, and half a cured silicone cartridge.

The eight tentacles are made from segments using a 3D printer and translucent filament. Each of the eight tentacles is illuminated by a chain of under-powered, tiny filament bulbs.

The eyes light too using old instrument panel bulbs, as does the silicone- it imparts a soft green glow when its ocean-green LEDs are switched on. The top of the head shoots out a focussed beam of green onto the ceiling.

The switch/control box lights up too, and eight switches allow the sculpture lighting to be either subtle or full-on deep ocean mode.

Thanks to: Shaun in the Shapr3d.com community, for his help with modelling the tentacle, and WimV from Printables.com for his help with the switch box.
